A loving, safe and structured environment for your dog. Because we believe your dog deserves the best.
Home from home
Welcome to
Choosing the right day care service can be an uncertain and stressful time for owners and their doggies. Dogs are part of our family and are incredibly receptive to how we feel. If we don’t feel safe and confident about who we entrust to look after them then they will not feel safe and ultimately, they will not flourish.

It’s never easy to leave your beloved pooch with someone outside your family. It can also be difficult for your dog - spending time away from you, adjusting to a different routine, and being in the company of other dogs.

At Byers Doggy Care we believe in putting the needs of your dog first. PAWS first is our guiding philosophy. It’s a set of principles that guides everything we do to help us create an environment for your dog to thrive.

Our Beautiful Routine
6:30am to 8:15am- Customers drop their dogs. Breakfast Club is available and given to those that are not hungry enough to eat earlier at home.
8:00am to 9:00am- Play time, getting ready and travelling for our walk.
9:00am to 10:00am- We enjoy a wonderful morning walk at a beautiful secured woodland. Because the woodland is so big and secured they feel safe and get to run around with no worries anything unfamiliar to be nervous about. Their exercise is at a high level for those that like it and it also offers the safety for older or less able dogs to walk at their own pace.
10:00am to 12:00pm- We travel home and the dogs are washed, brushed and given a Health Check. Teeth brushing is included in the price and offered on each day of service. During this time additional services can be ordered like nail care and grooming.
12:00pm-12:30pm- The dogs are fed individually a lovely nutritious lunch where the portion is agreed to be in keeping with their calorie allowance.
12:30pm-2:00pm- The dogs have a beautiful hour of rest known as Relaxation Session. Meditation music is playing to help them rest, sleep and enjoy some soothing massage.
2:00pm to 3:00pm- The dogs enjoy a yummy bon bon snack and play in the garden or rest depending on their preference. Those living out of the drop home area kindly come and collect their dog between 2:15pm to 2:45pm if they are having the Standard Daycare Service.
3:00pm to 4:30pm- The dogs are transported in safe K9 Crates in my air conditioned van to their homes to be settled.
4:30pm-5:00pm- The dogs have some enrichment time in the garden to toilet, play some enrichment puzzle games and then they enjoy a lovely dinner.
5:00pm-7:00pm- Our late afternoon is a nice time for them to unwind, rest or enjoy playing with some toys and dog chews. Customers having the Extended Day service can collect their dogs at their convenience between 5:00pm to 7pm.
7:00pm-8:30pm- My husband and I enjoy our dinner and the dogs boarding have a yummy evening snack. This is a wonderful time where we can enjoy lots cuddles and relax together watching some TV.
8:30pm-9:00pm- We start preparing them for sleepy time and they are offered some time in the garden to toilet. A lovely meditation melody plays gently in the background on a white noise machine, a night light is put on and the camera set up if they are sleeping downstairs. They have a massage, story of how much their hoomans love them and a couple of small bedtime treats with a kiss good night.

Considerations to make before applying online and having an assessment and trial period

1. Does your dog need more than 1 hour of exercise a day? The dogs have a full 1 hour of exercise in the morning at a beautiful secured woodland instead of a morning and afternoon walk in public for 30 minutes. In the afternoons after the Standard Daycare dogs have been dropped home, we do fun enrichment puzzle games at home and in the garden. You may need to consider if a 1 hour morning walk will be enough for the breed of your dog if you are doing Extended Day or Boarding services.

2. Do you live at a distance from the residence? Customers drop their dogs to me between 6:30am to 8:15am. I can drop your dog home if you live close enough that I can drop the dogs and be back within an hour and a half. This ensures the pups are not in transit for too long. If you do not need an Extended Day service you will need to collect your dog between 2:15pm to 2:45pm.

3. Does your work require ad hoc use of the service? Customers needing regular day slots have them protected indefinitely but it is not held if you need long periods of time off like school summer holidays. Regular slots are only given to those needing to use them most of the time with occasional time off for holidays. An ad hoc service is available and a nice option for those that need particular dates rather than regular days for meetings or work projects for self employed people.

4. Is your dog ok to have food during daycare and comfortable sharing toys? We offer delicious food here and put a care plan in place to ensure their food and snack intake is in keeping with what they are having at home so that they do not gain weight. It is a very reward based care setting here where they love seeing the bowl of chopped up small chicken pieces that they get given one at a time as they sit patiently next to each other for their turn. It's used throughout the morning to reward them for the various activities we do. Dogs are always fed separately for their meals. At certain times of the day a fun box of toys is put down for them to enjoy and they are watched to ensure they are playing nicely with them. I do not recommend this set up for those dogs that are resource guarded around food and treats that they may snap or nip a nearly dog or they are stressed being around toys and dogs at the same time. If their diet is so restricted that they cannot have any foods that the others are enjoying you need to consider if your dog will feel left out from what the other dogs are having.
5. Byers Doggy Care is considered a place suitable for dogs with any level of exercise needs as a beautiful large enclosed woodland is rented to keep us safe, secured and let them exercise to their ability. Those with flight risk dogs have felt very comforted knowing they are somewhere safe to exercise and I have the comfort that I will not face any dangers like livestock, horses, unknown loose dogs not in their owners control. At home the atmosphere is encouraged to be calm, relaxed with gentle play. The minimum age we recommend is 2 years and your dog must be neutered. It is not suitable for very high energy breeds that would want to play boisterously the majority of the time and find relaxing with the calmer dogs difficult. We feel comforted that your dog can come here to exercise, play gently, rest and feel safe in a house full of love for them like they are our own.
6. We only accept dogs that are vaccinated as per UK Schedule, registered with a Vet, are on prescribed flea and worming treatment and have Pet Insurance.
£35.00 to £58.00
a private & secure place is hired to walk your dogs
We have a beautiful space to ourselves for a full hour each day – offering total peace of mind that your dog can run and play as they wish in complete freedom. It's wonderful peace of mind that they are safe and secure.
